The Nottingham Farmers' Market opening day this year will be Sunday, May 20. The market will run from 1 to 4 pm every Sunday through October 14 on the lawn in front of the Blaisdell Memorial Library on Route 152.
This year's market will offer a variety of local vegetables and fruit, eggs, poultry, honey, maple syrup, baked goods, plants, cut flowers, and more. Several of our vendors from last year will be rejoining us, along with a few new ones. (more)
This weekend features two historic space events that are related to "Dragons.”The first one involves a "dragon.” Not the mythological dragon you’ve heard about in legends – I will talk about that one later. This dragon is a spacecraft, and if all goes according to plan, before the Sun rises this Saturday morning (May 19) it will become the first commercially developed spacecraft to be launched to the International Space Station (ISS).
Dragon Spacecraft
The Dragon spacecraft was developed by Space Exploration Technologies – "Space X” for short – a California company founded in 2002. After several years of development and testing, NASA has given Space X the go-ahead to send the Dragon spacecraft to the ISS with supplies for the crew. What will make this supply trip unique, however, is that the plan is for the spacecraft to return to Earth intact. (more)

Come celebrate the Lamprey River! The full river is marking its first anniversary in the NH Rivers Management and Protection Program, an acknowledgment by the State of New Hampshire that the Lamprey is a valuable asset for nature, history, recreation, and clean water.
Also, with the removal of the Bunker Pond Dam in West Epping and the completion of a fish ladder at Wiswall Falls in Durham, fish in the river can now potentially travel from Great Bay all the way to Northwood. This is the first year in about 250 years that fish can make their journey home to historic spawning grounds. (more)
On Tuesday, May 22, The Red River Theater presents a special screening of Who Cares About Kelsey? There is a reception at 6:00 pm with Producer and Director Dan Habib and, at 7:00 pm, the film showing followed by a youth panel presentation moderated by Dan Habib. (more)
