Candia Dollars for Scholars® Offers Older Women Opportunities

Carmelle Druchniak
Start Date:Issue Date:

Thanks to support from the Candia Community Woman’s Club, the Candia Dollars for Scholars® chapter is offering a new $1,000 scholarship for women 25 years or older.

The CCWC Continuing Education Memorial Scholarship will aid women like CCWC scholarship coordinator Gale Stanley, who returned to school in her early 50’s to pursue a master’s degree.

“Our goal is to support a woman who may want to complete her studies, pursue a degree or advance her career,” says Stanley. “I know from personal experience that education is the key to fulfilling one’s potential. We want to help someone get a promotion or start a new career.”

Qualified applicants must be planning to seek a degree (associate, bachelor’s masters or doctoral), training needed for employment or promotion, vocational/technical training, or professional certification.

This new scholarship is among 12 being offered this year by the Candia Dollars for Scholars chapter. Other than the new CCWC scholarship, other aid is targeted to local high school seniors and current college students in support of their studies at two- and four-year colleges, universities, community colleges and vocational schools.

Applications for now being accepted for the 2021-22 academic year. Those interested can apply online here
