Deerfield has close to 30 cemeteries located on town-owned land. While several are maintained at town expense, most might have been left to deteriorate if not for the help of volunteer groundskeepers.

At the same time, the community is running out of burial space in town-maintained cemeteries. The Cemetery Trustees have had the last remaining available space divided into plots at Old Center Cemetery. When those final 250 plots are gone (and several have already been sold) new space must be found. (cont'd)
