Two (2) Parks and Recreation Commission Openings (3 Year Term)
The Town is seeking interested individuals to be a member of the Parks and Recreation Commission. The Town of Deerfield Parks and Recreation Commission members consist of one (1) Select Board Representative and eleven (10) volunteer appointees.The Commission generally meets once a month (currently on the first Wednesday of every month) or more as needed at the George B. White Building.
It is the mission of the Parks and Recreation Department to address the need of the community by offering a variety of programs and services that are healthy and enjoyable.•Advise and support the P&R Director to establish/refine policy on all matters related to programs offered.
•Advise the P&R Director on budgetary matters.
•Work to create, utilize and maintain the P&R facilities so that they best serve the Town residents.
•Assist/support with the execution of the various functions and programs the P&R Department sponsors.
•Provide information to, as well as gather input from, Town residents regarding programs.
•Commission members at times provide an oversight role and provide a means for mediation regarding any issues between parents, coaches, or P&R employees.
